Osmington, Dorset – The Sunray is a set to become reimagined coastal Inn – a premium,
food-led pub with boutique-style cottage accommodation, just minutes from Dorset’s
iconic Jurassic Coast. Following a multi-million-pound renovation, The Sunray will blend
traditional charm with contemporary comfort. With 14 luxury self-catering cottages, it’s
set to become one of the South’s standout pub-stay destinations.

Nestled in the heart of Osmington, surrounded by sea cliffs and rolling hills, The Sunray
offers a refined yet relaxed escape for walkers, families, and food lovers alike. Think
hearty breakfasts for those hitting the South West Coast Path, long lazy lunches for
couples, and candlelit dinners for families sharing a proper meal. Menus will be
seasonal, local and cooked with heart -with a focus on fresh Dorset produce, award
winning wines, and wood-fired specials served from the outside oven and spritz, rosé
and gin bar.

Whether you’re returning from a windswept coastal hike or simply soaking in the peace
and quiet from your cottage terrace, of winding down in a wood fired hot tubs. The
Sunray is all about real hospitality, done properly. Inside, you’ll find a warm, beautifully
restored space full of rustic character. Outside, sun-dappled terraces overlook the
Jurassic countryside as you remain nestled in one of Dorset’s prettiest towns.
“The Sunray is more than just a place to eat and drink - it’s where the day begins, where
stories are shared, and where memories are made,” said Andy Lennox, restaurateur and
founder of the Fired Up Collective. “We want every guest to feel the rhythm of the
countryside, to taste the best of the South Coast, and to enjoy the comfort and care that
defines a great holiday.”
At the heart of this transformation is a partnership between The West Wessex Pub Co,
(run by Lennox’s Fired Up Collective in partnership with Pestana & Young) and the Hunt
family - local custodians of the land - who have spent the last three years restoring the
historic buildings with care and pride.
The Sunray once served as a refuge for officers during WWII, and today, it’s being reborn
as a destination that honours that spirit of sanctuary - where good food, warm service,
and Dorset’s natural beauty all come together.

Bookings open later this year for May 2026.
Menus will celebrate the best of the region, and we’re actively calling out to local
producers, growers and suppliers who want to be part of the journey.
The Sunray will cater for all - from the little ones to four-legged friends to the golden
oldies. It’s the perfect base for walking the coast, exploring Dorset, or just kicking back
with a pint and a plate.
